Web design has changed drastically from plain text in html, cool funky layouts to plain, starved white pages… Is it bad that it has changed?

While old websites may look better, are they really practical for professional usage?
Many people are dedicated to bringing back the look and feel of the old ‘net Which 100% makes sense, nowadays the internet is a corporate hellscape with everything looking the same.
Although, some old websites made your eyes HURT. What’s best? Depends on what It’s for, clearly.
Personal and sometimes business websites are often plain and boring to the user when these kinds of sites could easily be entertaining with some basic HTML. It'll also be easier for the user to remember their experience on the net.
Is the old web coming back?
Probably only on personal sites, There are spaces of people DEDICATED to the retro ‘net feel, If you are looking for those people they are often on services like Spacehey, Mastodon and usually have a neocities site. The yesterweb project is worth looking into if you want the feel of the old web back.
